Three Piece Door Moulding Kit — Sale

Fully assembled real wood moulding, offered at a special price.

Transform a plain flat panel door with the balanced proportions and architectural character of a traditional three-panel design—without cutting individual moulding lengths, measuring mitered angles, or assembling frames.

Each Three Piece Door Moulding Kit includes one tall upper moulding, one narrow center moulding, and one coordinating lower moulding. Every piece is handcrafted from real wood and fully assembled by our finish carpenters.

The result is a beautifully proportioned, custom-looking door without the expense and disruption of replacing the door itself.

This clearance listing includes limited DIY/Primed and Stain Grade Premium Poplar options. Each finish has different installation and finishing requirements, so please review the details below before ordering.

A Note About This Sale Listing

Clearance inventory is limited and varies by size and finish.

If the size or finish you need is no longer available, that option has sold out at the clearance price.

Because Luxe Architectural® profiles are consistent across our collections, sale and regularly priced kits can be mixed, matched, reordered, or used together on additional doors.

For additional sizes and current finish options, please visit our regularly priced Three Piece Door Moulding Kit product page.

DIY/Primed Clearance Kits

Our DIY/Primed mouldings are professionally made in the USA from factory-primed real wood.

The mitered corners are glued and secured, and each moulding arrives fully assembled with active pre-applied adhesive on the back.

Because this is our DIY finish, minor natural imperfections in the wood and small pin-nail holes at the miters may require light patching or sanding. Some hand-sanded areas may also need touch-up primer before painting.

For an easier finish, a quality paint-and-primer-in-one may be used where appropriate.

DIY/Primed Installation

  1. Measure and mark your door using the included instructions and worksheet.

  1. Remove the protective liner from the pre-applied adhesive.

  1. Position and press each fully assembled moulding onto the door.

  1. For a permanent, seamless finish, caulk around all edges.

  1. Complete any minor patching, priming, and painting needed for your desired finish.

Stain Grade Premium Poplar Clearance Kits

The same premium hardwood and craftsmanship, offered at a special price.

Our Stain Grade mouldings are handcrafted from premium Poplar hardwood that is domestically grown and custom-milled in California.

The mitered corners are glued and secured from the back with V-nails, leaving no visible nail holes to patch. Each fully assembled moulding is lightly hand-sanded and arrives ready to stain, prime and paint, or finish with milk paint.

The only reason these Stain Grade Poplar kits are discounted is that the pre-applied adhesive has expired.

For this reason, the Stain Grade option is intended for permanent, caulk-in-place installation rather than installation using the adhesive alone.

Stain Grade Poplar Installation

  1. Stain, paint, or finish the mouldings before installation, if desired.

  1. Measure and mark your door using the included instructions and worksheet.

  1. Position each fully assembled moulding on the door.

  1. Caulk around all edges to secure the mouldings and create a seamless, built-in appearance.

  1. Allow the caulk to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

A Classic Three-Panel Design

The Three Piece Door Moulding Kit was designed to give a flat panel door the proportion and character of traditional raised-panel millwork.

The tall upper moulding creates an elegant focal point, while the narrow center and lower mouldings add balance and architectural detail.

This design works beautifully on:

  • Bedroom and bathroom doors
  • Closet and hallway doors
  • Interior flat panel doors
  • Exterior and metal doors with properly prepared surfaces
  • Coordinating doors throughout a home
  • Renovation, staging, and hospitality projects

Before Choosing Your Size

This design works best with a door knob rather than a lever-style handle because of the placement and profile of the center moulding.

Door hardware is not always installed in a standard position, particularly on older or exterior doors.

Before ordering, measure from the edge of the door to the center of the knob. This measurement is typically approximately 2⅜”.

If the measurement exceeds 2⅜”, consider ordering one size smaller to help prevent the moulding from interfering with the hardware.

We also recommend checking the placement of deadbolts, decorative plates, mail slots, and any other door hardware before selecting your kit size.

Why Stain Grade Poplar?

Poplar has long been valued by woodworkers and finish carpenters for its versatility, workability, and ability to take on a beautifully custom finish.

It gives you the freedom to create a look that feels completely at home in your space—whether that means a rich stained finish, a soft milk-painted look, or a clean painted finish.

Our Stain Grade Poplar:

  • Is made from premium real hardwood
  • Is grown in North America
  • Is custom-milled to our profile in California
  • Takes medium-to-dark stains beautifully
  • Accepts paint cleanly when properly primed
  • Works well with milk paint for a softer, more natural finish
  • Can be sanded, repaired, refinished, or repainted over time

Because Poplar is a natural hardwood, the color and tone will vary from piece to piece. These variations are part of the warmth and character of real wood.

For the easiest and most even result, we recommend staining or finishing the mouldings before installation.

Available Sizes and Finishes

Clearance inventory is limited and may vary by moulding width and finish.

If the size or finish you need is no longer shown, it has sold out at the clearance price.

Installation Guidance

These mouldings are designed for flat panel doors with a clean, stable surface.

Before installation:

  • Clean the door to remove dust, grease, and debris.
  • Allow the surface to dry completely.
  • Confirm the moulding layout and hardware clearance.
  • Follow the included instructions for measuring and placement.

For ordering guidance, installation demonstrations, surface preparation, and caulking tips, please visit our How-To Videos.

Real Wood Makes a Real Difference

Every Luxe Architectural® moulding kit is made from real wood—never MDF, plastic, PVC, foam, or polystyrene.

Real wood brings warmth, depth, and architectural presence to a door in a way synthetic materials cannot quite reproduce. It can also be painted, stained, sanded, repaired, refinished, and enjoyed for years to come.

Our mouldings are handcrafted by finish carpenters in our California facility.

It is real architectural detail, made from a material worthy of your home.
