Two Piece Door Moulding Kit — Sale

Fully assembled real wood moulding, offered at a special price.

Transform a plain flat panel door with the timeless look of a classic two-panel design—without cutting individual moulding lengths, measuring mitered angles, or assembling frames.

Each Two Piece Door Moulding Kit includes one upper and one lower real wood moulding, fully assembled by our finish carpenters and proportioned to bring architectural detail and balance to the door.

The result is a more finished, custom-looking door without the expense and disruption of replacing it.

This clearance listing includes limited DIY/Primed and Stain Grade Premium Poplar options. Each finish is discounted for a different reason, so please review the details below before ordering.

A Note About This Sale Listing

Clearance inventory is limited and varies by size and finish.

If the size or finish you need is no longer available, that option has sold out at the clearance price.

Because Luxe Architectural® profiles are consistent across our collections, clearance and regularly priced kits can be mixed, matched, reordered, or used together on additional doors.

For additional door sizes and current finish options, please visit our regularly priced Two Piece Door Moulding Kit product page.

DIY/Primed Clearance Kits

Our DIY/Primed mouldings are professionally made in the USA from factory-primed real wood and arrive fully assembled.

These clearance DIY/Primed kits have a lighter coat of primer than our current DIY/Primed mouldings. The profile and craftsmanship are the same, but the mouldings may require additional priming or light preparation before painting.

Because this is our DIY finish, minor natural imperfections in the wood and small pin-nail holes at the miters may require light patching or sanding. Some hand-sanded areas may also need touch-up primer.

For an easier finish, a quality paint-and-primer-in-one may be used where appropriate.

These kits include active pre-applied adhesive and can be installed using our standard self-adhering method.

DIY/Primed Installation

  1. Complete any patching, sanding, or additional priming needed for your desired finish.

  1. Clean the door to remove dust, grease, and debris, then allow it to dry completely.

  1. Measure and mark the door using the included instructions and worksheet.

  1. Remove the protective liner from the pre-applied adhesive.

  1. Position and press each fully assembled moulding onto the door.

  1. For a permanent, seamless finish, caulk around all edges.

  1. Paint the mouldings and door in your desired color.

Stain Grade Premium Poplar Clearance Kits

Our Stain Grade mouldings are handcrafted from premium Poplar hardwood that is grown in North America and custom-milled in California.

The mitered corners are glued and secured from the back with V-nails, leaving no visible nail holes to patch. Each fully assembled moulding is lightly hand-sanded and arrives ready to stain, prime and paint, or finish with milk paint.

The only reason these Stain Grade Poplar kits are discounted is that the pre-applied adhesive has expired.

For this reason, the Stain Grade option is intended for permanent, caulk-in-place installation rather than installation using the adhesive alone.

Stain Grade Poplar Installation

  1. Stain, paint, or finish the mouldings before installation, if desired.

  1. Clean the door to remove dust, grease, and debris, then allow it to dry completely.

  1. Measure and mark the door using the included instructions and worksheet.

  1. Position each fully assembled moulding on the door.

  1. Caulk around all edges to secure the mouldings and create a seamless, built-in appearance.

  1. Allow the caulk to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

The Look of a Classic Two-Panel Door

The Two Piece Door Moulding Kit was designed to give a flat panel door the proportion and character of traditional raised-panel millwork.

The upper and lower mouldings create a clean, balanced layout that works beautifully in traditional, transitional, and updated interiors.

It is a beautiful choice for:

  • Bedroom and bathroom doors
  • Closet and hallway doors
  • Interior flat panel doors
  • Exterior and metal doors with properly prepared surfaces
  • Coordinating several doors throughout a home
  • Renovation, staging, and hospitality projects

What’s Included

Each Two Piece Door Moulding Kit includes:

(1) Fully Assembled Upper Moulding: 36" H

(1) Fully Assembled Lower Moulding: 24" H

The moulding width is determined by the selected kit size.

Every piece arrives fully assembled by our finish carpenters.

There is no:

  • Cutting individual moulding lengths
  • Measuring or cutting mitered angles
  • Gluing frame corners
  • Assembling frames
  • Nailing mouldings to the door
  • Filling installation nail holes

We complete the detailed carpentry work before the mouldings arrive at your door.

Why Stain Grade Poplar?

Poplar has long been valued by woodworkers and finish carpenters for its versatility, workability, and ability to take on a beautifully custom finish.

It gives you the freedom to create a look that feels completely at home in your space—whether that means a rich stained finish, a soft milk-painted look, or a clean painted finish.

Our Stain Grade Poplar:

  • Is made from premium real hardwood
  • Is grown in North America
  • Is custom-milled to our profile in California
  • Takes medium-to-dark stains beautifully
  • Accepts paint cleanly when properly primed
  • Works well with milk paint for a softer, more natural finish
  • Can be sanded, repaired, refinished, or repainted over time

Because Poplar is a natural hardwood, the color and tone will vary from piece to piece. These variations are part of the warmth and character of real wood.

For the easiest and most even result, we recommend staining or finishing the mouldings before installation.

Before Choosing Your Size

Door hardware is not always installed in a standard position, particularly on older or exterior doors.

Before ordering:

  • Measure the width and height of the door.
  • Note the location of the knob or lever.
  • Check the placement of deadbolts, decorative plates, mail slots, and other hardware.
  • Confirm that the selected moulding size will leave adequate clearance around the hardware and edges of the door.

Measure from the edge of the door to the center of the knob or lever. This measurement is typically approximately 2⅜".

If the measurement exceeds 2⅜", consider ordering one size smaller to help prevent the moulding from interfering with the hardware.

Available Sizes and Finishes

Clearance inventory is limited and varies by moulding size and finish.

If the size or finish you need is no longer shown, it has sold out at the clearance price.

Installation Guidance

These mouldings are designed for flat panel doors with a clean, stable surface.

Before installation:

  • Clean the door thoroughly and allow it to dry completely.
  • Confirm the moulding layout and hardware clearance.
  • Follow the included instructions and worksheet for accurate placement.
  • Review the installation method for your selected finish.
