Give a plain flat panel door the distinctive architectural character of a vintage five-panel design—without cutting individual moulding lengths, measuring mitered angles, or assembling frames.
Each Retro Five Piece Door Moulding Kit includes five coordinating horizontal mouldings, handcrafted from real wood and fully assembled by our finish carpenters.
The evenly spaced arrangement creates the clean, linear look of a traditional five-panel door, bringing depth and character to an otherwise plain surface without the expense and disruption of replacing the door itself.
The pre-applied adhesive on these clearance kits has a limited remaining lifespan.
For the most secure and lasting installation, we strongly recommend permanently caulking around all edges when the mouldings are installed rather than relying on the adhesive alone for long-term bonding.
The mouldings themselves feature the same real wood profile and craftsmanship used throughout the Luxe Architectural® collection.
Because our profiles are consistent across the website, clearance and regularly priced kits can be mixed, matched, reordered, or used together on additional doors.

The Retro Five Piece Door Moulding Kit was designed to recreate the distinctive proportions of classic horizontal-panel doors.
Five evenly sized mouldings create a strong architectural rhythm that feels vintage-inspired yet beautifully suited to updated interiors.
The result is a door with more presence, dimension, and character—without replacing the door itself.

DIY/Primed
Our DIY/Primed mouldings are professionally made in the USA from factory-primed real wood and arrive fully assembled.
The mitered corners are glued and secured with small pin nails. Because this is our DIY finish, minor natural imperfections in the wood and small pin-nail holes at the miters may require light patching or sanding.
Some hand-sanded areas may also need touch-up primer before painting.
For an easier finish, a quality paint-and-primer-in-one may be used where appropriate.
Finished/Primed
Our Finished/Primed mouldings are professionally made in the USA from factory-primed finger-joint Pine.
The mitered corners are glued and secured, minor imperfections and nail holes are patched, and each assembled moulding is lightly sanded for a smoother, more finished surface.
These mouldings arrive ready for installation and final paint.
Although the finish is more fully prepared, we still strongly recommend caulking around all edges during installation because of the adhesive’s limited remaining lifespan.

Because the adhesive on these clearance kits has a limited remaining lifespan, permanent caulking is strongly recommended at the time of installation.
To install:
Complete any patching, sanding, or additional priming appropriate to your selected finish.
Clean the door to remove dust, grease, and debris, then allow it to dry completely.
Measure and mark the door using the included instructions and worksheet.
Remove the protective liner from the pre-applied adhesive.
Position and press each fully assembled moulding onto the door.
Caulk around all edges to secure the mouldings and create a seamless, built-in appearance.
Allow the caulk to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Complete any final priming and painting needed for your desired finish.
These mouldings are designed for flat panel doors with a clean, stable surface.

Door hardware is not always installed in a standard position, particularly on older or exterior doors.
Before ordering, measure from the edge of the door to the center of the knob or lever. This measurement is typically approximately 2⅜”.
If the measurement exceeds 2⅜”, consider ordering one size smaller to help prevent the moulding from interfering with the hardware.
We also recommend checking the location of deadbolts, decorative plates, mail slots, and any other door hardware before selecting your kit size.
Clearance inventory is limited and varies by moulding width and finish.
