If you haven’t seen “The Biggest Little Farm” yet, you’re in for a treat! :)
One of our team members told me about this movie, and I'm so glad she did! The story and cinematography are truly inspirational! This film takes you on the journey of a couple who set out to create a biodiverse farm. It's incredible to see what a lot of hard work and perseverance can create! My description can't do it justice, so here's the trailer! I hope you are as inspired by this film as I was. "The Biggest Little Farm: The Return," updated by Disney, is set to release on Earth Day; it's a movie the whole family will enjoy!
This documentary reminds me that all aspects of the earth were created to work together in harmony, and when we take care of the earth, it takes care of us... okay, enough gushing about this film ;) here are some of my favorite earth-friendly products I'd like to share with you!
I've been a fan of Dr. Bonner's 18-in-1 Pure-Castile soap for years. It's made with organic, certified fair trade ingredients and packaged in a 100% post-consumer recycled bottle. This hardworking, multi-purpose soap can be used for any cleaning task, including face, body, hair, dishes, laundry, mopping, pets, etc. I keep a bottle in my shower and travel bag. It's my favorite for a close shave that leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. I also like the almond scent for cleaning the house. A simple thing we can do is use reusable totes for our groceries. I hate to admit it, but when California started charging for each bag used at the grocery store, I grumbled a bit; it was one more thing for me to remember to bring, but it's been several years now, and I've gotten the hang of it. Writing about it now, I feel guilty admitting that I was annoyed at the time. I occasionally get in the check-out line and realize I left them in my car, but most of the time, I remember them, and I feel good because it's an easy thing to do to cut down on the plastic bag problem and conserve resources when it comes to paper bags. I love the Apolis Global bags because they not only look great, but are super sturdy, made from jute in Bangladesh by mothers who receive Fair Trade-certified wages, annual profit dividends, and a retirement fund :) Aplois Global Market Bag
Cozy Earth has made it onto Oprah's Favorite Things four years in a row! Their breathable bedding is made from bamboo, and it's super soft! It also helps regulate temperature while you sleep, whether you're a hot or cold sleeper. The hypoallergenic sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, mattress pad covers, and comforters are made to last. And they're having a Mother's Day Sale! All items are 25% - 30% off. www.CozyEarth.com
I have long been a fan of seagrass rugs; they are sustainable and biodegradable. Seagrass grows in the low-lying areas of the Asia-Pacific region. The perennial grasses are harvested from paddy fields flooded with seawater during the growing cycle. Seagrass rugs not only add warmth and texture to a room, but they are incredibly durable and stain-resistant, perfect for both commercial and residential use! Seagrass rugs are available from many sources, including Ballard Designs, Pottery Barn, and West Elm.

Last year we were excited to introduce our new premium clear (no knots) Poplar hardwood mouldings. They are domestically grown, and custom milled just for us here in Southern California.
